Dear Tekashi, Black Women Have Long Hair Just Like You!

Tekashi 69 went off on a remarkably shady rant towards people who had been talking negatively about his newest purple hair topper. Tekashi had been making multiple appearances in the colorful pixie wig which was seen in different posts and a recent interview.  He unleashed a barrel full of shady comments to individuals pointing the finger at his new cropped wig which some had been referring to as a 27 piece.

In his rant filled video, he employed a stylist to remove the wig while boasting about his natural hair which was notably long. He also made a point to show even the very scalp of his head.  During the rant, he claimed that he wanted to remind "bald-headed, no edges having @$$ h**s" about his actual hair.  He then went on to say that he wears a wig because he wants to and made it a point to say that those who've talked about him wear wigs because they have to.  Lastly, he called out all bald headed women asking viewers to tag them to his post.

Tekashi's rant was clearly directed at Sukihana  as the two had a heated exchange a day prior.  Ms. Suki got the memo and came with the heat! Sukihana is usually seen wearing wigs and lace fronts but she said, ugh ugh, don't let these wigs fool ya! She clapped back and posted a video of her own showcasing her gorgeous natural inches which is clearly down her back.

Tekashi's rant was racially coded and seemed to be directed towards black women as it is a known fact that many black women wear wigs.  Tekashi appeared to feed into the myth that black women are unable to grow long hair when he refers to them as "bald headed" and having no edges.  While there may be some women who wear wigs due to hair loss, for many individuals, it is a form of self-expression and a way to achieve a variety of styles without having to put heat or chemicals to their natural hair.  Also, it's so crass of Tekashi to make fun of women who may be dealing with hair loss and diseases that contribute to baldness.  Someone needs to tell him to get a clue and develop some empathy for these individuals. Thinking before speaking is crucial. We should all be sensitive to the plight that others may be facing when it comes to their hair.

And with that said, who has seen a man so passionate about showcasing his long black hair to women? This rapper seems to be the first. The amount of flips and shakes of hair he was doing in this video was quite surprising to say the least.  It can be a really eye opening moment in time when an extremely masculine presenting man surprises the masses with most tender, feminine characteristics.

Well twirl on then, Mr. Tekashi!

It's time people of other races stop believing the myth that black women don't have long hair or are incapable of growing long hair.

There are countless numbers of black women with long natural hair who choose to wear wigs for reasons of personal choice.  Wigs are fun and convenient.  Everyone has a right to enjoy them if they choose to do so.  It isn't always about hair replacement when it comes to wigs. It can very well be about the need for desirable options to complement one's style and beauty.

FDA To Ban Relaxers Next Month As Cancer Link is Revealed

Almost 90% of black women have used a chemical relaxer at some point in their lives; many of whom began using it as children.  Usage of chemical relaxers has posed significant risks to the health of minority women. Women who use chemical relaxers are often unaware of the health conditions that they can introduce.  They have been clinically linked to reproductive disorders, infertility, cancer and other diseases.   A reporter for the New York Times, Linda Villarosa, spent a significant amount of time gathering facts about the health crisis surrounding chemical relaxers.  Through a lens similar to one idealized by black female epidemiologists, Villarosa discovered the well-researched link between the frequent usage of chemical relaxers and uterine cancer in black women.  These chemically-laced relaxers contain ingredients that act as endocrine disrupters which lead to early puberty and cancer in black women. Chemical relaxers have always been aggressively ma...
