Halle Bailey Cohosts and Performs for Motown Christmas Special

Natural style star, Halle Bailey, performed musical hits by Diana Ross and the Supremes for NBC's Motown Christmas Special.  Halle brought the house down in a gorgeous golden fitted gown with two other female singers.  The group appeared as the Supremes for a Motown Christmas special which originally aired on December 11th on NBC.  The young ladies  belted out classic hits such as, "Stop in the Name of Love," "Baby Love" and "You Keep Me Hanging On."

This was a first seeing Halle perform classic Motown hits and she has certainly got the moves and vocals to sing in the classic Motown style.  Halle wore a half up half down loc'd look with a long afro kinky half wig.  All three singers wore beautiful natural hair looks.  Isn't great to hear the exclusive sounds of Motown while in a modern era?  All three ladies looked classy and beautiful while belting out these hits by the Supremes.

The Motown era was full of vibrant, soulful and talented acts; one of the best periods for soul music.  It's wonderful to see that this style of music is able to transcend the times and reach new generations.  She opened the show singing "Winter Wonderland" with cohost, Smokey Robinson.  It's so uncanny how much they look alike.  Halle, this sound is definitely for you!

The Christmas special also featured the cast from MJ the Musical, JoJo, Jamie Foxx, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, The Temptations, Andra Day and Jordin Sparks.  Check out a clip of Halle and the Supremes in the video below and stream the full special on Peacock TV.

Meta Gala 2025: What Will be The Feminine Take on Black Dandyism?

Celebrities, designers and fashion's most influential will be convening at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday, May 5th.  This year's theme is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.  The period of the Black Dandy spanned over two hundred years, beginning in the 1700s and continuing on until the civil rights era.  During the period, men of African descent used fashion and style as a form of expression and as a way to reclaim their dignity, after having endured years of racial oppression, rejection, misrepresentation and emasculation.  Black Dandyism was also a way to make political statements while transforming struggle into poise and power.  There isn't a better moment in time to revive Black Dandyism than now. The form of expression is mostly associated with the male gender. Females that will be in attendance will have a challenge to present a feminine take on Black Dandyism.  The style requires a good measure of class, elegance, and attention to detail.  The mos...

Baby Hair Banned!

Who would have thought that a day would come where a popular hair trend is forced to an end.  If you aren't clear about what hair trend that is, think of those swirly waves that are shaped and molded onto a woman's hairline often with the precision, grace and perfection of an artist creating complex paintings and illustrations in the studio.  We're talking baby hair, curlfriends! Not a Monet, a Picasso or a Van Gogh! The obsession that some women have with baby hair should really be studied on a super grand scale.  Some ladies won't feel that their look is complete if their edges are not laid or slicked.  As a wig store dealing with various clientele, we can attest to the fact that some women take the baby hair trend to a whole nother level.  Having baby hair or "laid edges" means different things to different folks.  Baby hair may look cute when styled correctly but should females become so enmeshed in the baby hair craze?  What happens when an  ...
