Beyonce Shaves Off all Jay-Z's Hair and Joins him On Stage!

Jay-Z kicked off his three night Anniversary concert series with his Reasonable Doubt 30th Anniversary show on Friday night at Yankee Stadium.  Upon its opening, a special recorded video played featuring none other than his wife, Beyonce.  But it wasn't just an ordinary appearance! Beyonce was sitting in all of her hooded glory shaving off all of Jay-Z's newly unloc'd hair!

The hair is all gone folks--well not completely! Some fans of Jay-Z speculated that he might be cutting off his hair for his show.  Our previous article discussing his natural hair journey suggested that maybe a caesar cut was in the works as he has spoken about this preferred style.  Indeed, a complete shave was the end game for him.  In the video, Beyonce sat quietly behind her husband and zoomed through his fro with an electric shaver.  Baby girl has got skills!  How sweet is it to see this power duo share this personal style moment with the world?!  And so...his natural hair journey continues its evolution.

Jay-Z performed selections from his classic debut album and drew a large sold out crowd on Friday night at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.  The show featured other musical acts such as Nas, Alicia Keys and Beyonce.  This may be the second show where the former rap rivals performed together on stage and it's such a legendary moment for hip hop fans everywhere.  The last time that the rappers shared a stage at a major show was during the I Declare War concert in 2005.

No one was expecting Beyonce to pop out on this stage! All sparkling and glistening in a fitted capri suit like the glam lady that she is!  The Bey Hive is exciteeeeeeddddddd! Owwwww! Act III is coming and this performance was our appetizer!  The treat we got tonight when she belted out the vocals on Jay-Z's song, "Can't Knock the Hustle" was more than awesome! She later segued into a line from Love on Top... "Baby it's You...!"  Motha still got it and it will never leave her! Let's goooooooo Bey!!!

Congratulations to Jay-Z on the anniversary of the album that propelled him into the world of stardom. It is an amazing feeling for every artist to see their work pinnacle to this level of acclaim.

Did you attend the opening night of Jay-Z's anniversary concert weekend? What was your favorite moment from tonight's show?  Here are a few clips from his Reasonable Doubt 30th anniversary show:

Meta Gala 2025: What Will be The Feminine Take on Black Dandyism?

Celebrities, designers and fashion's most influential will be convening at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday, May 5th.  This year's theme is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.  The period of the Black Dandy spanned over two hundred years, beginning in the 1700s and continuing on until the civil rights era.  During the period, men of African descent used fashion and style as a form of expression and as a way to reclaim their dignity, after having endured years of racial oppression, rejection, misrepresentation and emasculation.  Black Dandyism was also a way to make political statements while transforming struggle into poise and power.  There isn't a better moment in time to revive Black Dandyism than now. The form of expression is mostly associated with the male gender. Females that will be in attendance will have a challenge to present a feminine take on Black Dandyism.  The style requires a good measure of class, elegance, and attention to detail.  The mos...

Baby Hair Banned!

Who would have thought that a day would come where a popular hair trend is forced to an end.  If you aren't clear about what hair trend that is, think of those swirly waves that are shaped and molded onto a woman's hairline often with the precision, grace and perfection of an artist creating complex paintings and illustrations in the studio.  We're talking baby hair, curlfriends! Not a Monet, a Picasso or a Van Gogh! The obsession that some women have with baby hair should really be studied on a super grand scale.  Some ladies won't feel that their look is complete if their edges are not laid or slicked.  As a wig store dealing with various clientele, we can attest to the fact that some women take the baby hair trend to a whole nother level.  Having baby hair or "laid edges" means different things to different folks.  Baby hair may look cute when styled correctly but should females become so enmeshed in the baby hair craze?  What happens when an  ...
