Beyonce to Return to Met Gala as Co-host after 10 Year Hiatus

Beyonce is making an iconic return to the Meta Gala after 10 years when she last attended the Manus x Machina themed event in 2016.  She will be hosting the 2026 Met Gala on May 4th alongside Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour. This year's theme is centered on "Costume Art" and curated by Andrew Bolton. The theme focuses on the "centrality of the dressed body" within the Metropolitan Museum of Art's notably vast collections.  Central to this theme is the understanding that fashion has a direct connection to the bodies that it is displayed on. This is the first exhibition that will be featured in the museum's permanent Conde Nast galleries.

Beyonce is no stranger to the Costume Art world as her mother, Tina Knowles created the Wearable Art Gala to benefit the Wear Art Can Occur (WACO) theater Center. During the annual event, guests also dress in elaborate, creative fashion according to the annual theme. While Beyonce and her co-hosts and co-chairs are busy organizing for this year's Met Gala, let's take a look back at all of her past looks that she wore to previous Met galas.  This year, one can imagine that Beyonce will feature at least 2-3 looks as she co-hosts the event alongside Kidman, Williams and Wintour.

She has always worn Givenchy or Armani Privé to past galas and it will be interesting to see if she will showcase looks by these design houses.  While we don't know what Beyonce will be wearing to this year's Met Gala, it would be nice if she showed up in something with shock value or a little daring. Perhaps a change in hair color could take whatever look she has soaring. Think--Back to Black! Whatever the case, the masses can be sure that this A-lister will bring her complete A-game to the event.

Meta Gala 2025: What Will be The Feminine Take on Black Dandyism?

Celebrities, designers and fashion's most influential will be convening at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday, May 5th.  This year's theme is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.  The period of the Black Dandy spanned over two hundred years, beginning in the 1700s and continuing on until the civil rights era.  During the period, men of African descent used fashion and style as a form of expression and as a way to reclaim their dignity, after having endured years of racial oppression, rejection, misrepresentation and emasculation.  Black Dandyism was also a way to make political statements while transforming struggle into poise and power.  There isn't a better moment in time to revive Black Dandyism than now. The form of expression is mostly associated with the male gender. Females that will be in attendance will have a challenge to present a feminine take on Black Dandyism.  The style requires a good measure of class, elegance, and attention to detail.  The mos...
