Wigs Are Saving Women?!

Wigs are protective styles and head coverings.  Not only do they protect the head or hair underneath them they’ve also been found to miraculously protect women from shots.

A wig saved a woman’s life last Saturday in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  A dark colored car approached the woman near the corner of Ross street and Bedford Avenue in New York and suddenly opened fire.

The 21-year-old Orthodox Jewish woman normally wears a wig for religious reasons.  That night her wig absorbed the blow from gunfire.

This is not the first time that a wig has protected a wearer from harm.  20-year-old Briana Bonds was shot by her boyfriend in 2009 as she was driving away from a convenience store.

The sew in that she was wearing became a shield against a bullet when it became caught inside of her sew in.   After the incident, she testified saying that she spent a great deal of money on the hair and thankfully, it saved her life.

As much as these incidents may be shocking and unbeweavable; they are very real!  Wigs are a great protective style and can allow the hair to breathe and grow underneath without enduring excess manipulation.  Wigs can also transform a person’s style or look instantly.

Wigs look great but they can also save lives.

From stories like Briana and the Brooklyn based woman, we learn that wigs can also save a person’s life in unexpected situations.  Who knew that wigs could be capable of so much good?

Essence Wigs provides numerous options for wigs that differ in color, texture, style.  Many of our wig styles are voluminous and have just the right amount of height especially when looking for an afro textured unit.

Baby Hair Crazy?!

Wigs provide an abundance of options for individuals to sport a variety of styles that they may not originally be able to do with their own hair.  With all of the different types of wigs available within the hair industry, it can be hard to choose between wig types such as an HD lace front or a crochet style wig.  Then there is the pervasive question that some wig wearers may have: “Should I wear this wig with baby hair?” What’s with the baby hair craze that is currently going on? The baby hair trend was extremely popular in the early 90s and it made a comeback in the late 2010s. The name came from the look of an actual baby's hair or how a baby's hair looks as a new born. The thin hair that appear at the scalp line which are actually signals of the baby's hair that has yet to grow in. While the trend does appear to be simmering down these days, one question still remains: Does leaving baby hair out on your wig really make a difference?  Some feel...
